Faudhia’s career began as a women and children’s rights practitioner in Tanzania and has 10 years in this field. She has been responsible for managing and implementing various projects funded by UN-WOMEN, UNICEF, Oxfam and the Norwegian Church Aid; with multiple grants. Faudhia has participated in various strategic litigation cases, in Tanzanian Court System and under the UN Convention on Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW); as well as participated in the preparation of the shadow report for Tanzania tabled to the CEDAW Committee.
Faudhia, has extensive government relations experience working with local Ministries, Government Authorities, NGO’s, CBO’s, FBO’s and CSO. She is a keen legal aid volunteer, counsellor, and has coordinated Women and Children Rights trainer to local communities, local authorities, and academic groups.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Tumaini University Iringa University College (currently University of Iringa), Postgraduate Diploma (Legal Practice) from the Law School of Tanzania; Postgraduate Diploma (Entrepreneurship) and Master of Science in Entrepreneurship from ESAMI, Arusha. Faudhia was admitted to the Bar in 2010.
She has recently suspended her practicing certificate to pursue a sabbatical in the field of Counselling where she has obtained Certification as Counselling and Pastoral Care and Education provider and trainer.
